i could rain on anything
but those hoop-earrings
throw my strato-nimbus aground

By Clay Ventre

i
am
surrounded
by ardent dogs
by     bad-blistering
   doombut
i can rain on that

and the moon’s just a knuckleheaded ho
and the city’s slobbering
on
   and
so afflicted-white-whaled sin-soaked
i might have been better if i’d stayed
                   un-built
               un-on
                     extra
               eternally
          un-
            arrived
but i’m here
a dreadful penny-grabber
   cheapsuit fucker
             in
            a
              braille
     edition
decipherable
             only
             and ever
             and if even
by hands
